Funeral Sermon
Spoken by Dr.Diana Brevan

On behalf of the family of Rosalina Vazquez Ocasio ., I wish to thank each one of you for being here today at the Funeral and also I wanted to thank Many of us who Prayed that they can be there but due to circumstances of health or other they were unable to attend Our Family wanted to thank you for your thoughts and prayers, and though today is a very difficult day for us, the scriptures makes this promise:

Ps 46:1-3
God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3 Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling.

And the Bible also says;

Rom 8:35-39
35 Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
37 But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.
38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,
39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Opening Prayer With Dr. Diana Brevan:

Dear heavenly Father, we gather here today to remember the precious life of Rosalina Vazquez Ocasio, We also gather to say goodbye one last time and to celebrate the life that he enjoyed here on earth and thank you for each precious moment and memory that we have had with him. His life has touched so many people, in so many different ways. We pray that your peace and presence will be upon us during this time and we pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

At this time that I would ask all those that would like to share something from the life of Rosalina Vazquez Ocasio. you can comment it in or please send the Words to our Family.

Today’s Message From Dr.Diana Brevan :

I want to begin by saying how I align today with your hearts,

-I Pray I could take your sorrow away, but I know I can’t

the Graduation of a loved one is probably the most difficult time in life

-grief is never comfortable for any of us
-sometimes it can seem unbearable

Why Do I say this because without Jesus to get us through these times… As you well Know about me I wouldn’t have made it…I would have probably lost myself.
People say that time heals all wounds…time may help, But…It was Jesus, and time, that healed those wounds…and He will heal your grief, sorrow and pains also.

THE BIBLE DOESN’T SAY NOT TO GRIEVE …..

-But it actually says that “weeping endures for a night…but Joy comes in the morning.” This may hurt for a season,(a little while)…But God will be with you thru this. “I will never leave you or forsake you.”
-THIS IS OFTEN A TIME OF QUESTIONING …..
-WHY ?
-WHY Rosalina Vazquez Ocasio?
-WHY NOW ?
-THOSE QUESTIONS ARE ALL NATURAL
-AND I WISH I HAD THE ANSWERS, BUT I DON’T
-ONLY GOD KNOWS THOSE ANSWERS

-SOMETIMES THAT CAUSES PEOPLE TO STRUGGLE WITH
-FEELINGS OF : -FRUSTRATION, SORROW, GRIEF
-HELPLESSNESS
-SOMETIMES, EVEN ANGER

-I KNOW FOR SURE THAT GOD UNDERSTANDS WHAT WE’RE FEELING …..
-THE BIBLES SAYS JESUS WAS “A MAN OF SORROWS, ACQUAINTED WITH GRIEF.”

-I AM ALSO CONFIDENT THAT IN OUR OWN WAYS, AT TIMES LIKE THIS WE ALL NEED THE SAME THINGS …..
-COMFORT, REST, HOPE, STRENGTH AND PEACE
-ALL OF THOSE THINGS ARE FOUND IN JESUS ! ! !

WHEN LIFE STRIKES A BLOW LIKE THIS, IT SEEMS LIKE PEOPLE EITHER TURN TO GOD, OR THEY TURN AWAY FROM GOD …..

-But, if Rosalina Vazquez Ocasio could speak to you right now…she would want to tell you…That there is a God, and He IS REAL
SHE WOULD TELL YOU HERSELF, TO TURN TO GOD NOT AWAY FROM GOD ! ! !
-BECAUSE HE OFFERS US COMFORT THIS TODAY,
-JESUS SAID, “I HAVE COME TO BIND UP THE BROKEN HEARTED AND TO COMFORT ALL WHO MOURN.”
-HE ALSO SAID, “AS A MOTHER COMFORTS HER CHILD, SO I WILL COMFORT YOU.”

THE APOSTLE PAUL WAS A MAN OF MANY SORROWS AND DISAPPOINTMENTS

-AND EACH TIME, JESUS SAW HIM THROUGH
-LATER IN LIFE PAUL WOULD GO ON TO SAY GRATEFULLY

“PRAISE BE TO GOD, THE FATHER OF COMPASSION AND THE GOD OF ALL COMFORT, WHO COMFORTS US.”

GOD UNDERSTANDS THE SORROW PEOPLE FEEL AT THE LOSS OF SOMEONE THEY LOVED …..

-HE KNOWS WHAT IT’S LIKE TO LOSE A LOVED ONE …..
-BUT HE DOES MORE THAN JUST UNDERSTAND …
-HE SHARES THAT SORROW …..
-AND HE WILL BEAR THAT SORROW WITH YOU IF YOU WILL
LET HIM ! ! !

THAT WAS SO BEAUTIFULLY ILLUSTRATED IN THE STORY OF LAZARUS

-JESUS’ FRIEND, LAZARUS HAD DIED
-THE HEAD OF HIS HOUSE
-THE PROTECTOR AND THE PROVIDER OF HIS FAMILY
-THE BELOVED SON, & OLDER BROTHER WAS GONE

-HOW MANY TIMES HIS SISTERS HAD THOUGHT DURING HIS ILLNESS
-“IF JESUS WOULD ONLY COME BEFORE DEATH ARRIVES”
-AS HE ARRIVES, JESUS IS MET BY MARY, ONE OF LAZARUS’ SISTERS
-SHE SAYS, “IT’S TOO LATE, LAZARUS IS DEAD.”
-But Jesus Responds to her…JESUS SAYS …..John 11:25 “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies
-SHE STRAINS TO UNDERSTAND
-THE PROMISE IS TOO GREAT FOR HER TO UNDERSTAND OR TO HOPE FOR…

SO JESUS IS TAKEN TO THE GRAVE OF HIS FRIEND

AS HE ARRIVES AT THE GRAVE, WE’RE TOLD THAT “JESUS WEPT”
-NOT FOR LAZARUS
-LAZARUS WAS JUST MOMENTS FROM BEING RAISED TO LIFE
-SOON HE’D BE RUNNING AND JUMPING AND LAUGHING
-JESUS WEPT FOR THE MOURNERS
-JESUS WEPT WITH THE MOURNERS
-HE WAS MOVED BY THEIR SORROW AND GRIEF
-JUST LIKE HE’S MOVED BY YOUR SORROW AND GRIEF TODAY

IF JESUS WERE HERE TODAY HE’D REPEAT SOMETHING HE SAID LONG AGO
“COME UNTO ME ALL OF YOU WHO ARE WEARY AND HEAVY BURDENED, AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST.”

ALONG WITH COMFORT AND REST, GOD OFFERS EACH OF US PEACE TODAY AND HOPE
PEACE…Jesus said, 27Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
I GIVE YOU PEACE THAT PASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING…
Song: Peace, Peace….

Not only peace…but Hope.
In the world we live in today…there is not much hope…
Apostle Paul said it this way…if I had hope in this world only…I would be miserable!
But he had a hope in a life beyond here..HEAVEN!
And we have that kind of hope also…
Because of Jesus Christ, we can have that hope of life after death..
There is a hope beyond this world!

JUST IMAGINE …..
-STEPPING ON SHORE AND FINDING IT HEAVEN
-OF TAKING HOLD OF A HAND AND FINDING IT GOD’S HAND
-OF BREATHING IN NEW AIR AND FINDING IT HEAVEN’S AIR
-OF FEELING INVIGORATED AND FINDING IT IMMORTALITY
-OF PASSING FROM A STORM AND FINDING ETERNAL CALM
-OF WAKING UP IN HEAVEN AND FINDING IT TO BE HOME

Song: I CAN ONLY IMAGINE

Close with story of David’s Son.

THE BIBLE SAYS, “WEEPING MAY ENDURE FOR A NIGHT, BUT JOY COMES IN THE MORNING.”

-WE HAVE HOPE TODAY IN THIS LIFE …..IN A LIFE WITH JESUS.
And in the Life after….

There is coming a day when no heartaches shall come
No more clouds in the sky, no more tears to dim the eye.
All is peace forevermore on that happy golden shore,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

Chorus
What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.
There'll be no sorrow there, no more burdens to bear,
No more sickness, no pain, no more parting over there;
And forever I will be with the One who died for me,
What a day, glorious day that will be.
Chorus
What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.
What a day, glorious day that will be!

May the Lord richly Bless each and everyone of my family loved ones and friends of Rosalina Vazquez Ocasio. I Love you all. If I was able to reach NJ this is the same what I would have shared in the Message. And I Love each of you very Much. Mami Rosalina had an amazing full compleate life upon this earth and Now as she has graduated, she is going to have an Amazing life up in heaven Amen Until we all meet again Amen. Dr.Diana Brevan
